One of the largest utility companies in Britain has hired software life cycle specialist Automation Consultants to resolve its webMethods performance and functional issues.
The electricity provider uses a service-oriented architecture to power desktop applications used by 14,000 employees, as well as its customer facing web applications.
Automation Consultants director Francis Miers comments: “In any middleware scenario you have to consider the knock on affect of source code alterations on the other programs it ties together. Thorough automated testing meant we quickly identified frailties in the code and knew which tools to use to ensure these weren’t missed in future.
“The key to this project was the detailed deployment plan we produced early in the sales cycle to drive stakeholder buy-in. Once senior management understood the benefits of the proposed solution they were quickly able to see how it’d help their business divisions meet sales targets.”
