Challenge
BSkyB purchased Easynet in January 2006 in a move to become a major force in the UK internet arena. BSkyB needed to rapidly integrate all of Easynet’s broadband services with BSkyB’s existing CRM systems.
Solution
Phase 1 of the solution required test scenarios to be developed in order to simulate broadband sales and broadband technical enquiries. This was a requirement for both the thick client used for BSkyB call-centres, and the thin client (Citrix) used for third party and international call-centres. These scenarios needed to be tested in addition to the core CRM transactions currently in production. AC was able to provide the resource to meet these requirements successfully. Performance testing began as anticipated and Broadband was launched into the production environment.
Benefits
AC already had experience of the technologies used to test the existing CRM system at BSkyB and was able to apply these methods and skills to the broadband projects. AC’s in-depth knowledge of Mercury LoadRunner and QA Load resulted in a fast turnaround in preparation for performance testing. It was of critical importance that BSkyB was able to launch the broadband service quickly, in order to compete with other Internet providers. Furthermore, AC provided BSkyB with a bespoke solution for the E-Sales project that has the advantage of being available for use in the future in new environments.
