Automation Consultants is proud to announce that we have been placed #41 for UK’s Best Workplaces for Development for medium-sized businesses.
New for this year, the UK’s Best Workplaces for Development List recognises companies making employee development a key part of company culture. These workplaces offer employees the chance to better themselves, to learn new skills, and to progress within the organisation. They understand that development is not one-size fits all, and they actively support every single employee to undertake their own tailored journey of growth. Because of this, their people are fuelled by a sense of purpose, feel valued by their employer, and give their best to the organisation.
Our inclusion on this exclusive list officially acknowledges our commitment to fostering an environment where personal and professional growth is paramount. Over the past year we have introduced numerous new initiatives, including dedicated personal development time within the working day, and a range of courses such as AWS, ITIL, and SAFe, all supported by a dedicated budget. We also launched knowledge-sharing sessions and ‘AC Communities’, which meet monthly to discuss trends, challenges, and innovations.
To compile the UK’s Best Workplaces for Development List, Great Place to Work® reviewed our culture, benefits, approach to leadership and development, alongside anonymous responses from our employees. They then used these data insights to benchmark our company’s employee value proposition against the culture our employees actual experience. Only the businesses who achieve the highest scores after evaluation receive Best Workplaces™ status.
From our anonymous employee feedback, we can see that overall our team highly commends our varied work opportunities and support from management. Key highlights from the survey include:
95% of employees state it is a great place to work
96% of employees feel a strong sense of community
94% of employees enjoy the camaraderie with their colleagues
92% of employees feel well-supported by the company
One employee references our open and collaborative culture:
I love working for Automation Consultants. Everybody is like a family here and we're all able to discuss ideas freely, collaborate, and experiment. The higher-level management are extremely approachable, including the CEO. There's no element of "being scared" to say your opinion or to report your work. The culture is open, friendly, and collaborative. I feel like the work I do is important and the results are cared about by a variety of people in the business.
Another employee references our focus on personal development time:
I've been given lots of opportunity to expand my knowledge, and always have support when requesting additional training or industry certifications. Automation Consultants has significantly invested in my personal development in a short space of time, enabling me to develop my skills at a pace that suited me, without any restrictions or extended timeframes.
Jarrod Anderson, Head of HR at Automation Consultants, said:
We're thrilled that our employees remain happy, motivated, and enthusiastic about their work, as reflected by another year of outstanding feedback from this anonymous staff survey. Our commitment to employee development is evidenced by the range of opportunities we offer, from personal development time within the working day to diverse and engaging projects. Our culture is designed to support each individual’s growth journey, ensuring they have the tools and freedom to explore their interests and expand their skills.

Benedict Gautrey, Managing Director of Great Place To Work® UK, said:
Employee training and development isn’t just about teaching employees to do their jobs. It’s about showing employees they are valued and that there is a path of progression available. When employees don’t see opportunity, they don’t bring their best selves to work and productivity and retention will be adversely impacted.
Employee development is future-focused and evidences a commitment to employee’s long-term growth. It ensures your people feel valued, and feeds into the overall company culture and strategy. Each year, we recognise organisations whose thriving workplace cultures are enabling both their people and their business to flourish. Opportunities for learning and development are a crucial element of this success, which is why we’re so thrilled to be recognising this year, for the very first time, the UK’s Best Workplaces for Development.
Congratulations to Automation Consultants for being part of our 2024 UK’s Best Workplaces for Development List.
