A major professional services provider has called upon Automation Consultants’ software life cycle expertise to streamline development and deployment of its online due diligence portal. The Automation Consultants team installed IBM’s Rational Requirements Composer (RRC) and Rational Team Concert (RTC) – both part of IBM’s Rational Collaborative Lifecycle Management integrated solution – and held workshops to train the client’s onshore and offshore users.
The Rational solutions implemented by Automation Consultants were selected to help the professional services giant improve its software requirements management. Automation Consultants director Francis Miers notes: “RRC allows systematic, collaborative reviews. Tracking requirements with Excel for example risks spreadsheets getting lost and people’s reviews being forgotten.
“When a client gets us onboard they know they’ll instantly benefit from 15 years of software life cycle experience and excellent working relationships with vendors, including close working partnerships with IBM and HP.
“In this instance IBM’s Collaborative Lifecycle Management tools were best suited to the project from a return on investment perspective. We created a single repository for the client’s software requirements using RRC and RTC for agile project management. Team Concert enables an end user to implement source code control which is the next step for this project.
“We also trained the client’s offshore and onshore users in the Collaborative Lifecycle Management tools to ensure a seamless handover – the training’s integral to realising the benefits CLM can bring.”
